Me and my daughter managed to have a break away from our carer responsibilities. It was so lovely to have a break away with my daughter. Due to my carer responsibilities, I am rarely able to do any nice things with my daughter, as life is so hectic. I cannot thank you enough. So grateful. I cried on the night, was such a lovely experience to be able to switch off for a night. Not done that in over 7 years!

It was lovely to get away and actually sit down and think about my own needs for a while.

This break meant that I could see my family and meet my new nephew. I made new memories that I will cherish, and I felt connected. Staying in a hotel made me feel like an individual again. I had a long, relaxing shower, a lie-in, and a change of environment. Carving out that time and space for myself was more important than I knew.

The hotel was amazing, the facilities were lovely, the hotel was lovely, and the following day we were relaxed and walked around a wildlife park in beautiful sunshine. I really feel like we had some me time, which was so overdue we didn’t really realise we needed it. Thank you so much.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely too. This break made a huge difference and helped me and my husband recharge, ready to go back home and care for our 3 autistic boys.

My husband died 3 months ago. We cared jointly for our 48-year-old son, who has complex learning needs and behavioural issues. I found Carefree a few years back, and it changed us as a couple. Being able to have quality time together to relax in your amazing bespoke hotels- I can't tell you how we looked forward to it.
These few months have been horrendous, as I now faced the caring role myself, and I'm older and much, much more tired. I made the decision to continue using Carefree even though I miss my husband terribly and will take a friend or family member for company.
It's incredible to be able to just relax, and I am so happy it's up to two a year.
What a difference you make in my life. Thank you.

The break did me the world of good it was such a lovely island, and the hotel and staff were so helpful and caring. The food was excellent, room was lovely and clean, and it provided everything I needed.

It was the first break I have had in eight years of looking after both my mum and a disabled grandchild.
I needed time out to breathe and take stock of my caring role. I needed time to think and evaluate my current situation.
I enjoyed the spa experience and the swimming, and it was lovely visiting the local area and going for a local walk.
I sat and read my book in the bar and ate there in the evening. A thoroughly enjoyable experience from the moment I arrived until I left in the morning.
Despite the long drive, I was quite chilled when I arrived home.

My partner and myself enjoyed a wonderful 2-night break at The Elvetham. It was a beautiful place to visit, wonderful restaurant and beautiful setting, really relaxing and gave me the opportunity to think of myself and not others.
Thank you, Carefree, for allowing my partner and myself to get away from it all.

I am incredibly grateful to Carefree for giving me the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful two-night break in Oban.
This past year has been extremely challenging, both physically and emotionally. Alongside being an unpaid carer for my dad, I’ve experienced a divorce, sold my marital home and undergone major surgery. My mental health has suffered, and I hadn’t realised just how desperately I needed some time for myself.
I made the most of every moment! I enjoyed a boat trip, a wander around the shops and treated myself to a new jacket, I watched a beautiful sunset with a glass of wine and attended a fantastic comedy show right beside the hotel.
For once, I could switch off from my caring responsibilities, relax and simply enjoy being me again.
I returned home feeling refreshed, revitalised and emotionally recharged.
This was so much more than a weekend away. It reminded me that my own happiness and wellbeing matter too.
Thank you, Carefree, for giving me something truly priceless… time to look after myself. The difference those two nights have made to me is incredible.

Before booking this break, I was feeling overwhelmed with my caring role to my autistic triplets, feeling like a rubbish mum, tired and very little enthusiasm. As soon as I booked this break, it gave me something to look forward to. The break itself was amazing, the hotel was outstanding. I ate alone at their restaurant in the evening (just wanted to give a little back for their superb hospitalit) and then watched a film in bed, alone without anyone needing me, it was great!! Since coming home, I’ve been in much better spirits, so thank you so much!

I felt like it gave me the space to clear my head. On my break, I was able to have a conversation with a professional friend who gave me some advice. It was great to have that conversation in a new environment, but also, I was able to articulate myself better plus hear and understand clearly the advice that she was sharing with me.
It was just useful to be in a different environment from my usual space at home.

It's wonderful to think these hotels are so kind in giving free nights away,it makes you feel sort of special and cared for, in that they understand how hard being a carer is. It really is a wonderful, thoughtful thing to do.

To have moments to relax and belly laugh without worry. To feel a bit like me again for a short while. To have the opportunity to receive a free break, I am so grateful, as I would not otherwise have been able to afford it.

This break was really needed this time - after a challenging summer where I had no respite, I really needed a night away, and I got 2 in London, where I had a fantastic time! I really appreciate this service largely because it makes getting away affordable and guilt-free. Spending £200+ on a hotel room otherwise just feels too much, and that's just the start of the costs. London just immerses me in a different world and offers lots of escapism and distractions. Thank you so much

It was great just to be away from caring duties without any children. Able to eat, drink and even use the toilet without being followed, interpreted, etc. The time away let me de-stress and feel refreshed after a good night's sleep. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to have a decent sleep at home. Great for the mind. Thank you very much. It's much appreciated.

I was worried at 1st leaving him with a family member, he doesn't trust too easily. But he insisted on me having a great time. That helped. Then I was able to relax completely at the hotel, it was beautiful, with peaceful grounds. Really helped my mental health, as I was able to let my mind relax.

Sometimes, as a carer, you feel so isolated and alone, you feel that no one cares about the struggles you're going through. These breaks show you that people do care about our wellbeing, and just being away from pain and suffering for one night makes all the difference to our mental health. I would also like to say what a beautiful experience we had at the Chesford Grange Hotel, everything was perfect. The staff were friendly, the food was delicious, and the facilities were great.
Thank you to Carefree and thank you to all at Chesford Grange.

It made a difference getting away just for one night and not having to focus on my dad's care. The hotel itself is lovely and has a lot of historical value to me, and I find these kinds of things very interesting. I wasn't aware of the chapel and main hall and would love to spend time there again. I'd like to have explored it more if I had the time. The staff are brilliant, and nothing is too much trouble for them regarding questions. One staff member went out of his way to put the lights on in the chapel for me at night.
The restaurant staff were polite and friendly, the young lad who brought our food up from room service was brilliant.
I just want to say thank you to them all and the reception staff for the pleasant experience.

I stayed for a night at the beautiful Zetter Hotel in Clerkenwell and was overwhelmed by their lovely welcome and the gorgeous room. I think they must have upgraded me, because the room was stunning and very big! I was so grateful to all the staff at the hotel for their kindness and generosity, and I gave them a 5-star review on all the platforms - it would have been a 6-star review if that was possible.
I can honestly say that I managed to completely relax and unwind during our break (I didn't really want to leave the room, as it was so stunning!!!). I managed to get a reduced-price carer ticket to see a show, and then my partner and I visited a lovely stately home on our way back to Bournemouth. What a wonderful two days.
Thank you, Carefree team, from the bottom of my heart, for the opportunity to relax and be cared for - I am truly grateful.

I felt happy and excited for the first time in a long while as I drove to the hotel. It was amazing to be able to use the leisure facilities and not have to rush back, and to be able to sleep for the whole night. I really enjoyed being able to sit and enjoy breakfast (I don't usually get time for breakfast or lunch). Thank you very much for the opportunity.

It had been at least 13 years since I had a break. I relaxed considerably and slept the entire night without getting up three or four times to assist my parent. Spending time outdoors walking without having a deadline to meet was heaven!! The two days were how life used to be.

I needed to get away for a day or so. I didn’t manage the two nights as my daughter needed a bit of help. I am struggling a little at the moment, as a few people around me need help and only one of me.
The hotel room was wonderful, lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast and staff amazing. Very warm welcome.

Just back yesterday from a restorative two nights at Tavistock Hotel, London, with wonderfully polite staff - without exception! Everyone made me feel most welcome as a solo guest, for which I was most grateful, thank you! I left a bag of sweets to share at reception when I checked out as a small token of my appreciation. I'm remembering the local places I enjoyed visiting and would love to return next year if possible.
On my return journey home, my mother was admitted to hospital, so I was very quickly back to my caring role; although I felt far more able to deal with the situation after my wonderful Carefree break. Thank you SO much.

The break was very important for us, as at the moment my daughter doesn’t receive any respite at all, as we are on a long waiting list and have been for over a year now. We don’t have many people in our family who we can rely on to take care of our daughter.
The hotel was amazing 🤩 After we had dinner in their lovely hotel, we sat relaxing in the hotel lounge with a few wee drinks (we never get to do that). It was truly amazing!! We could feel the weight coming off our shoulders, and we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves.
The staff were amazing. They were friendly, cheerful and helpful. We would definitely love to return. Thank you to all the staff and management for making our stay a very enjoyable and relaxing one.

Booking the break was something to look forward to. The best three things were:
- Being able to choose what I did without having to think whether it was good for my Mum too.
- Being able to go to bed and get up just when I wanted.
- Being on an adventure, in a new place.
The hotel was lovely, and all the staff (especially those on reception) were so friendly and helpful.
It also improved my relationship with my sister, who looked after my Mum. She even encouraged me to stay an extra night, which I did at my own cost, and the hotel gave me a 10% discount.

This break was definitely needed. It was a bit of time where I could just sit and breathe for a bit and had time not to worry about anything much.
I can’t thank you or the hotel enough for the opportunity. The hotel is lovely, the food is great and the staff are friendly. I would definitely go and stay at the hotel normally when it’s not a Carefree break. I would 100% recommend the hotel to friends and family too.
Thanks again!

Hotel was very welcoming and ready with suggestions on what was in the area. It was very well situated, easy to travel to and with lots of options onsite and in the area. I'd certainly go again, either on a Carefree break or as a destination for a minibreak. I felt at ease on my own and a bit special

The customer service at the hotel was simply amazing, amongst the best of any hotel I have visited, including 5-star hotels. This break was a much needed opportunity for me to spend time with my teenage daughter and for us to connect, without my cared for child demanding my time and energy. Getting a full night's sleep was also very welcome. Many thanks for this excellent program.

This break meant everything to me, as I now care for both my parents and I would not have been able to afford a break without the funding. I now feel a lot more refreshed and relaxed and better able to cope going forward with my caring role.

I normally sleep in a single bed with a small TV. The hotel kindly upgraded me. I had a huge, comfy double bed and a gigantic TV. I slept better knowing that I wasn't far away from my husband, but just an hour away if there were any problems. He felt better knowing that someone was looking after me. My head clears when I am away for a night, and I came back with solutions.

This was the first time I have been able to get away with my partner in a very long time. I feel it has strengthened our relationship, which usually takes second place to our caring responsibilities. We had a chance to go walking, eat out and have fun together. This is something we may never take for granted, as we care for our adult child who has autism and will probably never live independently.

The night away was just what we needed to relax and rest. We now have more patience with our child because we have had the break. Forest pines is a lovely hotel and its the second time we have stayed there. The beds are so comfy and the blackout curtains are amazing. We didnt even get up for breakfast we slept so well and had a lay in for the first time in a while. We would deffinalty recommend this hotel. You can also use the spa pool and jacuzzi but we didnt really have time to do it.

Beautiful location and grounds. My room was amazing . The breakfast was delicious. Sat in the grounds in beautiful weather and chilling with a glass of wine. Caring is relentless emotionally and physically. My daughter has been going through a lot medically, with lots of appointments, etc. It is so important to breathe and try to release the stress of all of that.
This was my second visit to the hotel. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, and they upgraded me to a lovely sea-view room. Unfortunately, I only got to stay one night due to a family emergency, but even the journey to Oban and back and watching the scenery was so relaxing.
The views of the harbour, the lovely breakfast and the chance to have a good night's sleep made me feel more human again.

It was a lovely hotel, and I was very happy to be there. The staff were very helpful, and there was a nice atmosphere. It was great to get away, as I had been needing it all year.
It was lovely to reminisce about London, as I used to live there and worked just off Piccadilly Circus. It looked very different, but I loved the atmosphere. It was great to see some of the sights and shops. People were so friendly and helpful.

It was so strange to be an adult again. To just leave the house without hundreds of bags and back up plans. To have an actual meal with my husband and sleep! We actually got a full night's sleep! I know that's nothing exciting but being able to go to bed by 9 and not being wake up in the night was incredible!

I stayed two nights in a hotel. The room was lovely, quiet and had a great shower and comfy bed. I felt safe and enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was included, so I didn't have to cook or clean.
I explored the area around and walked along the small beach. It blew the cobwebs away. I came home with a weight lifted off my shoulders. Will do this again.

Our Carefree break was honestly such a wonderful experience, and we are so grateful to have been given this opportunity.
As a full-time carer, I'm so used to being constantly on high alert, managing everyone's needs, worries and emotions that I don't think I realised just how exhausted I was, both mentally and physically. Before going, I wasn't sure how much difference just one night away could really make, but I couldn't have been more wrong!
Once we arrived, it felt like I could finally switch off, relax and just be myself rather than being in constant caring mode. It gave both my husband and me something we rarely get — precious quality time together, doing something just for us, without the usual responsibilities and pressures.
It was honestly so refreshing and made such a difference to my wellbeing. We came home feeling happier, reconnected and recharged, and I felt so much more able to return to my caring role after having that little bit of time for myself.
The Winchester Hotel & Spa was lovely! It was clean, welcoming and perfectly located for exploring beautiful Winchester, with so much to see and do nearby. We had such a wonderful time and would absolutely love to return one day, as there was so much we didn't manage to fit into our short stay!
Having the break on a Friday evening was also a huge help, as my husband didn't need to take time off work, and it made arranging care for my daughter and mum much easier.
A huge thank you to Carefree and the hotel for making this possible. Sometimes, as a carer, you forget what it feels like to have time for yourself, and this experience reminded me just how important that is. It really was more than just a night away to us. ❤️

Being given the opportunity to have a one-night Carefree Break at Crewe Hall meant more to me than I can put into words.
As a carer, so much of my life revolves around looking after someone else. Caring comes with a huge amount of love, but it also comes with constant responsibility, worry and the feeling that you always have to be there for someone. It can be very easy to lose sight of yourself as a person outside of being a carer.
This one night gave me something I rarely get: the chance to stop, breathe and just be me.
Being able to enjoy the spa, go swimming, relax and spend time doing something purely for myself made such a difference. For those few hours, I could switch off from my caring responsibilities and experience what it felt like to be carefree, to feel normal and to enjoy myself without constantly having someone depending on me.
It might have been just one night away, but emotionally, it gave me so much. It reminded me that I am a person too, that I deserve rest and happiness, and that my own wellbeing matters just as much as the person I care for.
I am incredibly grateful to everyone who makes these breaks possible. You may not realise how much something like this means to someone in a caring role, but it can make a genuine difference to their mental and emotional wellbeing. Sometimes, we don’t need weeks away or anything extravagant. We simply need a little time to recharge, feel like ourselves again and return to our caring role feeling that little bit lighter.
I would also like to thank Crewe Hall for providing such a wonderful setting for my break. Being able to enjoy the facilities, relax and have that precious time for myself was truly special.
Thank you for recognising carers and for giving us the opportunity to feel cared for ourselves, even if only for one night. I will always appreciate this experience, and I hope these breaks continue to be offered to other carers who desperately need and deserve them.
One night made a bigger difference than you could ever imagine. ❤️

This was my second Carefree break to the Village Hotel Bury. I have family living in the area, so it was a good mix of seeing them and having a break for some much needed time to myself. The hotel is lovely and to be greeted on first name terms by Maxine Leon when checking in, made my stay even more special, a massive thank you to her for making my stay amazing. Having this break to look forward to means everything to me, life has been difficult with my caring this last year and this time alone gave me time to reflect, recharge and relax. Thank you so much.

The hotel staff were welcoming, treating me and my companion as any other customer. Checking in and out was stress free with zero fuss. The generous two night offer enabled us to explore a new part of the country and go on three countryside walks that were very good for our wellbeing. The breakfast provided was great and we really enjoyed the evening meal that we purchased. Had the kitchen not been closed on the first night, we would have eaten at the venue twice. The big difference that taking a break offers to me is avoiding burn out.

The most positive benefit is spending time with my husband, without any other demands on our time, or physical and emotional resources. I was desperately in need of a break, as I'm currently struggling with my own health issues with nerve/spinal cord damage following spine surgery, and also feeling frustrated that I sometimes struggle to really help my son to move forward with his mental health issues.
It was so good to have something to look forward to, with this trip away, and to know that my son was in good hands whilst I was away.
I would like to thank the Bear Hotel for providing this Carefree break, and for their kindness during my stay.

I hit crisis the Wednesday before my break and had to be admitted to hospital overnight. The break gave me the chance to hear my own thoughts for once and come to the conclusion that a lot of what has happened with my caring role has been traumatic and I need to stop pushing myself to be fine and start looking at things through a trauma informed lens and get appropriate help and support to process what has happened and generally be more gentle with myself.

Put a distance between my caring role and myself, being able to visit the Dickens Museum and consult the archives at the British Library (my trip was to London), being able to experience a new area of London (Clerkenwell, where the hotel was), being able to rest away from continuous responsibilities.
For the hotel: The hotel staff were all very kind and attentive. The breakfast was gorgeous. I loved sitting at the lovely bar/café to read and work on my research plans (great background music too). I also loved how comfortable the bed was.

I took a car trip this time, not so far away - exploring towns and villages, enjoying walks by the water, and hikes in the countryside. The stay gave me an opportunity - a prompt even - to plan a break and enjoy myself in my own company, eat well, get some fresh air, and look forward to coming back home afterwards

It gave validation to the fact carers are people who also need time out. We are often made to feel guilty or ashamed when asking for help, or at times of feeling able to, have then experienced knock backs which starts the whole cycle again.

The hotel - the Belfry Cambridge was lovely. We were greeted well by reception, we had our evening meal in the restaurant where the staff were cheerful and helpful. And the food was delicious. We used the spa area which was comfortable but a little tired in decor. Overall the trip to Cambridge was very positive- I felt so relaxed after a one night stay . We had such a relaxing time that we missed breakfast 😂
Definitely go again. Thank you

Firstly Id like to thank Carefree and the hotels for offering these breaks to carers.
Being a carer and neurodivergent myself, it is important that I have some time to recharge to prevent burnout as this could potentially last weeks and I wouldnt be able to care for my family as I should.
Hotel staff were friendly and professional, very helpful and ensured I was aware of the times for breakfast and other services etc.
The room itself was lovely, very clean and a place where I could switch off and enjoy my break overnight. I look forward to returning !

Firstly, it gave me something to look forward to. I needed some time to myself and my husband. I spent the morning browsing the shops and trying things on without rushing or worrying. I felt so relaxed.
We checked into the hotel, and the staff were extremely welcoming and the room was beautiful. Thank you so much for a lovely break. It really perked me up.

This break was very important to me because caring responsibilities can be constant and leave very little time to rest or simply enjoy a change of surroundings. Having the opportunity to spend a short time away gave me a real chance to relax, recharge and enjoy life without the usual daily pressures.
Even though it was only a short break, it made a noticeable difference.
A big thank you to Carefree and to everyone who makes these breaks possible for carers. Your support is genuinely appreciated!

This breath was my first time and it has a positive impact on me, I really feel like it was definitely needed and worth the travel, although it was difficult to leave my partner behind to watch the children on his own as I know how stressful and mentally exhausting it can be, but personally I also needed the time away to offload and recharge myself in order for me to continue with my care responsibilities.
I had a warm welcoming at the Queens hotel in Leeds, the staff at the hotel front desk are so supportive and friendly. The also treated everyone there with respect.
I walked into the room it was so clean well presented and there was a welcoming card and beautiful wards that meant a lot.
I do appreciate the carers support team for the giving me the opportunity to this great experience. It was only one night but also something I’m grateful for.

I used the break to fully relax, revitalise and enjoyed the peace. It is such a godsend being able to have some me time. I would like to say thank you to the hotel for their friendly, helpful and approachable manner throughout my stay. It was a lovely break and I am very grateful.

My break was important to take a few days off from the mental stress . Constantly being asked to solve things or do things. For a few days I got to just sit and read a book. I read a book everyday without being interrupted and didn’t spend the time arranging appointments etc.

I had the most wonderful time away from my daily routine. I got to truly relax, reset, and rest as much as I needed. I’m honestly so grateful for this service provided for carers — it means the world.

I had a lovely break. The hotel was fantastic and the staff were so helpful and lovely. I feel like I'm revitalised and charged up my batteries to carry on for a bit longer. It was just what I needed. The hotel was clean and the food was lovely, especially the breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody.

I was able to do things I enjoy, like visiting National Trust properties. It was important to take a break and have some reflection time after a recent bereavement. It made a big difference to have relief from pressure and do some things that I find enjoyable.
I would not choose to stay in a pub hotel again because it's not as restful, with obviously more noise. I chose it because it was the only one on offer for two nights. It's generous that they offer breakfast as well as the room, and I loved the food.

It is great to have something to look forward to. The break gave me time to reset and charge my batteries. Life as a carer is one of constant vigilance, and it is nice to just have some time where the pressure is off.
The staff and other guests were really lovely. I didn't feel it was odd being there at all, and the hotel couldn't have been more helpful.

Was able to let my hair down for a night and feel a bit more human. A huge thank you to Carefree and to the hotel, who provided a restorative and relaxing break - it was such a treat having a full breakfast freshly cooked for me.

The break was very important for my well-being. It gave me time to relax, and it also meant I could visit a very dear friend who I don't see very often. I would like to thank the hotel for a warm welcome and great service. Very much appreciated.

It was my first break in a hotel since I lost my wife earlier this year. I did wonder how I would feel going away without Marilynn, but I definitely needed a break, as it is much harder looking after my stepson on my own. It was good that it was just a one-night break, as it gave me a chance to try it out.
Ana, on reception, was very welcoming, and the staff at breakfast time were also friendly. I didn't feel out of place eating on my own, as the hotel caters for business travellers who are also on their own.
I very much appreciated a large corporate company such as IHG making a gesture of support to unpaid carers – it made me feel that my role was appreciated.

It is a beautiful hotel and grounds. The natural surroundings left me feeling so wonderful. I slept so well after a short walk by the river and a lovely dinner. The trees are amazing, and some are many hundreds of years old. I saw the herd of cows and bulls the next day. The staff were inviting too. The house itself is remarkable, with portraits of people on the ceilings and windows. History mounted on the walls everywhere you roamed. My room was in the stables, which was lovely. I would definitely go again in the summer months.

1st holiday/break in years. I was on my knees, worried about leaving my husband, but my son was brilliant. Likewise, the accommodation and staff where we stayed. Thank you. I would not have done it without your invitation so glad I did.

Having time out helped me have a break from all the strain and pressure. Having to care for two people, one with autism and an elderly mum, is very challenging and exhausting. This break helped me switch off, relax and wander around the British Museum, eat some nice food and forget about everything for a short period of time. Very much needed as I was reaching burnout.

Being a carer, I am at the bottom of my list, as I feel I am functioning and coping. Having time away where I do not feel guilty about spending money to get a break is so important as I would never selfishly book a break away as even though I have a full time job, cost of living, financial support that I pay for my son and granddaughter do not allow the luxury of booking time away for me. So thank you so very much.

It was a tremendous feeling of being free, not tied to my chores, something to look forward to and an eagerness to be there. I had a lovely stay, and the hotel staff were all very supportive and professional. I felt my shoulders relax in those surroundings and in the swimming pool I thought to myself, "What bliss". How nice it is to do things I used to do for myself, like swimming with no worry of timing for dinner, medication and routine. I felt "me ". Furthermore, it has been a tremendous welcome break without the financial burden.
Exploring a new area made me feel good as I learnt something new, gaining new knowledge about the cathedrals and museums. This gave me satisfaction about me gaining new knowledge and the freedom to take time and read. I rarely have time to read at home, always giving it last priority and running out of time in my day and being too tired at the end of the day.
I felt "lifted"and relaxed walking in the park, chatting with other walkers and picking conkers.
Being in the hotel kinda gave me permission to have relaxing treatments. I allowed myself to be treated. I want to thank the hotel - the McKeever group for their contribution to well-being for carers. It seems that it is one of the few, and I am very grateful to them and Carefree for making this break possible.

Adore the hotel I went to, I choose it every time I can with Carefree, and it was really nice to see signs in the room this time showing they support Carefree and breaks for unpaid carers. It’s invaluable to be able to escape for a night and not have to worry and just be me - and, well, to get a good night's sleep!!

My break was important to me because I never go anywhere and it was so nice to be pampered. I had a beautiful room and used the swimming pool & steam room. It was so nice to have time to myself and reflect on my own life. That evening I had a meal in the restaurant. It was delicious and the staff could not be nicer. Overall, it was a luxury experience.

I can’t put into words how wonderful my 2-night break at The President Hotel was. Before this, I was so stressed, 7 weeks with 3 children with special needs at home for the summer holidays was tough, to put it mildly, but seeing them happily back into a familiar routine at school made me excited about my upcoming trip.
The hotel was amazing, in a really safe area near the tube, breakfast was outstanding and a lovely room. Film 4 at 9 o'clock with a cup of green tea was just bliss! Cannot thank Carefree and The President Hotel enough for a wonderful experience.

I am very grateful for the break as I could plan a meet-up with family that live in another county. It was definitely an affordable trip, and I was very excited to see family members again. We had a super afternoon tea in one of their homes and made wonderful memories.
The journey was tiring, and I appreciated the two-night stay. The hotel was very well equipped for a relaxing stay, with lovely facilities, a comfortable bed, a wonderful, tasty breakfast and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble, and it was a quiet area.
I would definitely recommend this hotel, the restaurant and the area. My family are going to eat there next month and are looking at organising a Christmas party.

Staying at the Tavistock Hotel was lovely. Staff were polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Location was excellent close to outdoor spaces, museums and places to visit.
It was a thoroughly needed break! Although we did a lot of sightseeing and walking, have felt refreshed, able to reset.

This was my first time to Northern Ireland. I don’t have the opportunity to stay in nice hotels like the Hilton & I paid for an upgrade to a junior suite, which was gorgeous & felt luxurious. I arrived early, just to relax & enjoy the quiet of the space & the amazing view. The staff were really friendly & I had access to the executive lounge which was a bonus. I slept like a log, without hearing my parents or jumping up to help them. It felt really important and valuable & I felt incredibly grateful. I had heard there was air traffic control issues, so I really appreciated the later check out and stayed in my room to relax and conserve energy. I was so relaxed that I didn’t have anxiety with the flight delays home. I’m tired today but it was really worth it. Thank you so much to Carefree and Hilton.

The break was just what we needed to have time together, to think and talk without any worries. The difference was just having space, quiet times, reading etc without interruptions and stress. The gentleman at the hotel reception was very welcoming which put me at ease. Dunstan Hall is a lovely hotel, rooms are clean and spacious. It was just what we needed, thank you.

It was so nice to have the treat of a fantastic hotel. Whilst away, I managed to get some much-needed rest. We also managed a 2-hour visit to a National Trust site close by. The hotel staff were so helpful and the breakfasts were amazing. Thank you so much.

Ashford international hotel is absolutely lovely. I love the decor, the layout, the staff are great and so very friendly. The pool is perfect and great to have the steam room and spa. I love the fact it has a pool table and bar with snacks. Everything is so close by if you need anything and the rooms are super comfy and very big. This place is highly recommended and it's huge. I really appreciate my Carefree break and I thank the hotel for offering it's facilities to us carers as it really is a great place to wind down.

I am grateful to Carefree for providing another lovely break. The hotel was lovely and very relaxing, the staff accommodating, attentive and kind. I really felt as if I was on holiday.
The break was important because I was recovering from an injury while trying to continue caring for loved ones. The break enabled me to rest away from all caring duties if only for a moment.
I returned from the break feeling better able to provide care.

The break was important as mum has dementia and i look after her full time. The break gave me a chance to not wake up at night for two days. I feel energised. Thank you to the Carefree team for organising and The Sun hotel for providing the holiday.

Looking after my husband full time is very tedious and not only physically exhausting but also mentally/emotionally. I don't have time to relax and have me time, as it is all about his needs and demands. Going on the break was such a relief, and it helped me to switch off and enjoy the moment.
The hotel room was lovely and clean. The staff were nice. The hotel position was most enjoyable because it was close to restaurants, shopping centre, etc.

We had a lovely time at The Glenburn Hotel, Rothesay. The room was lovely, bed was extremely comfortable, we had a bath - which was great to soak in. We didn't have dinner in the hotel as we went out to explore Rothesay, we had breakfast, which was a buffet and was delicious. Staff extremely helpful. We sat and played cards at night with a night cap. All in all, we had a lovely break and would definitely stay again in this hotel.
