Me and my daughter managed to have a break away from our carer responsibilities. It was so lovely to have a break away with my daughter. Due to my carer responsibilities, I am rarely able to do any nice things with my daughter, as life is so hectic. I cannot thank you enough. So grateful. I cried on the night, was such a lovely experience to be able to switch off for a night. Not done that in over 7 years!

The hotel was lovely, we had a super room, the swimming pool was a real bonus and helped relax on arrival. We bought an evening meal there which was good and the breakfast was ample and more than enough choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful

My parent recently had a fall and I felt it was my fault. I needed to take a break and forget my troubles. I decided to take a break to a great city that had plenty to do. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. There was a gym and swimming pool and pub/grill with the largest TV I have ever watched. I visited so many heritage sites and took a ride on a ferry. The fresh air blew away my troubles and I felt happy again. I’d like to thank Patti at the hotel reception, who was so kind she gave me chocolates.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time away from the huge responsibility of caring for my loved ones. I had to push myself to make the right decision for me, and even though I left my disabled grandson in hospital at 11 pm the night before I was going on my break, I knew I needed to take up the wonderful opportunity Stratford Manor QHotels gave me. The rest and time for me was invaluable.
I care for one full-time 16-year-old, and provide family support to five members (including 2- and 3-year-old children with complex needs, and a mum with learning disabilities). Spending time in a lovely hotel made me feel human again, and spoilt—having a lovely breakfast and two days with no demands is priceless.
I cannot thank Stratford Manor enough, and Carefree for the wonderful organisation that they are 💕

I was feeling apprehensive about going away on my own and having to deal with social situations alone. Facing these head-on has given me some confidence. The hotel was a very pleasant environment to stay in without anyone judging me.

It is just a feeling of freedom that is so good. What a wonderful hotel. The most beautiful setting. The breakfast was fantastic, loads of fresh food. The bread to die for and a great selection.
Staff were excellent in every respect. Kind helpful and friendly.
Thank you Forest Hill for giving us this fantastic experience and opportunity.
A big thank you to Carefree and staff of Staffordshire Together for Carers for all they do to make this happen.

As a carer, it’s a full-time job but 24/7, It is difficult to switch off. Having a break and having cover for your cared-for, allows you to have complete respite for a short time. Allowing you to recharge a little. Thank you.

The Village hotel staff were lovely, and it was so nice to just relax and think about what we wanted to do rather than fit around the caring role and prioritise another person.

I was worried about taking a break, however a family member offered to help so that I could take up the offer, it was easy to book the break, the hotel staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I enjoyed the walks we took and we went out for a meal, something we haven't done for years. Having a cooked breakfast was brilliant, another thing we hadn't done for years. My caring role has been so much better since our break, I have a different mind set and more energy than before, I was feeling down and this break has left me energised and much more happier than I was. Thank you Carefree and Holiday Inn.

I felt like a normal couple with my husband. We were able to do things , go places we could never go with our son. Many phone calls whilst away but still enjoyable. The hotel staff were great, friendly, helpful.

I enjoyed the time in the morning when I woke up and had a cup of tea in bed then not having to rush to give care. I was able to forward plan activities that I like to do which was visit the British museum, go to the cinema, have afternoon Tea in a Hotel and see Abba Voyage. Busy schedule but felt like it was an opportunity of a lifetime. My mental health and well being totally felt great. I am very grateful to Carefree for organising this service. Your communication to let carers know of the free break opportunities is fantastic. I feel so lucky to have experienced a fabulous break. 😊🥳

Incredible to be able to be me, and put me in the picture. Not having to think about what was needed to be done all the time, watching the clock, making sure things happen, getting bogged down, feeling sad, etc. But enjoying the fresh air, the being spoiled and seeing new things, treating myself. Doing things we used to be able to do together, albeit with a good friend instead. What was lovely was that at the hotel, they only had my name. There was no mention of me being a carer or how my booking was made which could have been a bit embarrassing. Thank you for that.

I really liked Village Hotels - never used them before. The jacuzzi was really warm which is important because I have complex regional pain syndrome which is affected by temperature.
