Every day prior to my stay, I really looked forward to my forthcoming break. I had chosen The Queens Hotel as it is lovely and I could easily travel there by train. I enjoyed thinking and planning what I would do with my 2-night stay, and this gave me a focus and an interest in doing something for me.
The break gave me time—time to switch off and think. It made me quite emotional as I really felt welcomed and valued, whilst at the same time realising how tired I was and how important this space was. In fact, I didn’t do half the things I had planned, as I didn’t need to—I just enjoyed being there, having the lovely hotel food and comforts.
The hotel is superb, and the hotel staff are so kind, cheerful, friendly, and professional. I did enjoy exploring Leeds and was surprised at how confident I was. I would like to thank the hotel so much. I felt so much better after this break and now feel like smiling as I think back to it. I would not have taken time out, but the Carefree break both allowed and enabled me to do so. I am 100% grateful. My caring role is so demanding and relentlessly wears me down. Thank you.

The breaks are very important to me and my husband who supports me in my caring role, they are much needed. The hotel was lovely, an amazing location, but most of all the staff were wonderful, very helpful, friendly and professional.

Break was important to me as l needed some time to myself. I could get up in the morning and see to myself, then go out for the day with no worries. The hotel was fantastic, the staff very pleasant, nothing too much bother for them. A place I would return to.

I was really in need of a break and the hotel was amazing, the staff were lovely and very helpful. It was nice to experience a night away and it felt like a well-deserved treat. It is good to experience a normal life away from the stress of the caring role once in a while. Thank you!

It was stressful preparing for the two night break away from my brother. There were so many things to arrange. However, having time away with my husband was very much needed.
The hotel made is so welcome, they were like an oasis of calm in our hectic world. The hotel service was efficient & friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
I couldn’t believe how quickly I relaxed.
We visited nearby St Bees, the scenery was breathtaking. The sound of the waves on the beach also helped me relax too.
Thank you for this fantastic & much needed opportunity to have some time away with my husband. He is so understanding to my caring commitment to my brother, but we need time together too.
Just to add, I was a bit apprehensive about the scheme, but I’m up for more opportunities next year. Thank you

The break gave me and my husband the chance for some stress-free quality time together. It allowed us both to clear our heads and just focus on ourselves. It's amazing how just a few days away can help to de-stress and give you the strength to continue caring for a loved one. The hotel was amazing, the staff were friendly, and we felt like we had been there many times before, even though this was our first visit.
