Wall of Love

A truly lovely treat to make me feel valued. Thank you to a thoughtful hotel who gifted the stay. And a very amazing and smart, single issue charity; for making a real difference to carers lives across Britain.

Myself and my husband were treated to a stay with you on 9th February via Carefree. This means that Nobu has so very kindly gifted a room for someone in a caring role. Our 19-year-old son suffered a stroke 2 years ago and our worlds were turned upside down. You cannot possibly know how wonderful it was to have 24 hours of complete comfort in such a stress-free environment with your lovely staff looking after us. I wanted to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity and the way you all were. We had the most wonderful time.

The break was amazing. Better than expected and unforgettable. I forgot what it is like to be without out kids. I missed them but was able to enjoy our time.

This break was really important to me because it allowed me to celebrate my birthday without spending the entire day focused on the person I care for. The hotel was amazing, and the staff were extremely friendly, even wishing me a happy birthday on several occasions. I loved every part of my experience.

All I can say is thank you! This break came at a time where my mental health was so low and I was struggling to function. We managed to book a break half way through the Christmas holidays so it meant I had something to look forward to and a well deserved break during a busy period. For the first time in two years I was eating at a restaurant without my kids, and somewhere new - normally this can’t happen with my autistic child so I felt like I was on cloud 9!

The break was important to me as it allowed me to get some respite and recharge my batteries. Having time out from caring allowed me to switch off and relax, so I came home refreshed and ready to continue my caring role, feeling well-rested in both body and mind. The Nobu Hotel in Shoreditch was beautiful, and the treats and personalized note left for me were a lovely, caring touch.

It was amazing to have time on my own to relax. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and my time away. I could have gone better prepared to use the facilities but had so much to do beforehand to prepare for the break that I was quite exhausted by the time I arrived. However, the environment was wonderful and it was a wonderful and relaxing stay!

Fantastic opportunity to stay in a hotel and location I wouldn’t normally be able to afford or have the confidence to pick on my own. Treated very well by the staff and had the most enjoyable special experience.

I was able to spend quality time with my daughter. The hotel was very nice and the staff were incredibly helpful. Without Carefree, I would not have been able to have this amazing break. Thank you very much!

This is a brief note to say thank the Carefree team, for arranging my recent stay at Nobu Shoreditch. It was a wonderful experience. They even upgraded my room! They left a beautiful handwritten card with chocolates welcoming me and wishing me a pleasant stay. I am incredibly grateful and appreciative for this relaxing and memorable stay. It was the first time my husband and I had an overnight break together from our disabled daughter in a year. It encouraged us to make arrangements for a family member to look after our daughter, which we wouldn’t normally feel confident enough to do. For the first time, we didn’t feel guilty asking for help. Please pass on our thanks for the room upgrade. I had emailed beforehand asking if we could have a room with a bath (I really fancied a relaxing bath), and they kindly gave us a free upgrade. The welcome petit four was also much appreciated. Lino, the manager, personally met us and took us to our room, which was so lovely. Thank you so much. I cannot emphasise how much this break meant to us. As an unpaid carer, I often feel hidden away from society and life. This break made me feel like the support I provide for my disabled daughter is seen and acknowledged. It’s strange how much that recognition actually means to me.

Thank you so very much for providing me an overnight stay. I didn't realise how much I needed that break and it was very much appreciated. To come home and have more energy to deal with everything is something I'm very grateful for.
